Coaching for Rocky Mountain Fever Basketball

The Rocky Mountain Fever Basketball Club is fortunate to attract many strong, local coaches.  All of our coaches have significant experience at the club, middle school, or high school level as well as coaching and playing experience at the collegiate level.

Become A Fever Coach

What we Look For in Prospective Coaches:

  • Experience coaching club, middle school, high school, or college teams and/or collegiate playing experience
  • Dependable, responsible adults who have their players’ best interests in mind - at all times
  • The knowledge and experience required to teach the game of basketball to young athletes
  • Patience helping children develop skills and those who truly enjoy working with children
  • People who will represent our organization professionally and who demonstrate good sportsmanship at practices, games, and tournaments
  • Coaches who are willing to learn, develop their knowledge and teaching skills, strive to be better coaches, and be a positive influence in the lives of a young athletes

What we Do Not Want in a Coach:

  • A big ego;  someone who thinks they know everything
  • Someone who only cares about winning and the score at the end of the game
  • Someone seeking an opportunity to relive their glory days on the court
  • Anyone who is going to display poor sportsmanship and unprofessionally represent The Rocky Mountain Fever Basketball Club
  • Someone with little patience, a bad temper,  poor judgement, and an aptitude for using profanity around impressionable young athletes

What we Require of our Coaches:

  • Concussion Awareness Training and Certification from the CDC
  • A Complete Background Check
  • Licensed through the USA Basketball Youth Development Program
  • Adherence to our Digital Communication & Social Networking Guidelines
  • Availability to attend all practices and games during a season
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with parents and players;  clear communication is the best way to eliminate confusion, misunderstanding, and frustration for our participating families
  • A willingness and desire to offer Fever players and their families an incredible basketball experience

Our coaches are the lifeblood of our organization and have the greatest impact on a young athlete’s experience.  Coaches represent this organization with parents, other clubs, officials, and league organizers.  We take the selection process very seriously and want coaches whose values align with our Mission and Core Values.  Our coaches are committed to providing our athletes with the best possible experience and place the interest of the athlete ahead of their own.

Want to Coach in a Fever Program?

Rocky Mountain Fever spends a significant amount of time selecting, screening, and reviewing prospective applications to ensure our teams are led by knowledgeable coaches who care about a child's athletic and character development.  We also require our coaches to have a complete background screening, become certified in Concussion Awareness from the CDC, and sign our Digital Communication and Social Networking Guidelines Policy.  This is what sets us  apart from other programs.
