Fever Parent Code of Conduct

The Fever Parent Pledge is focused on positive principles and Non Negotiables of the 21st Century Parent (published by Coaches of Excellence)

  • I/We will endeavor to have a healthy perspective on my child’s participation on a Rocky Mountain Fever basketball team and any other sports team.

  • I/We will adhere to all policies regarding parent behavior by the league and tournament organizers through which Rocky Mountain Fever registers its teams.  I pledge that I will conduct myself appropriately at games and that I will refrain from using profanity or aggressive/abusive behavior towards referees, coaches, or league/tournament officials.   Rocky Mountain Fever has a NO TOLERANCE policy towards profane, aggressive, or abusive behavior at competitive tournaments and games.

  • I/We will allow my child time to process the game on their own (this could be minutes, hours or days). I will tell my child I am proud of them regardless of the outcome of the game.

  • I/We understand that RM Fever is focused on providing a positive experience and growth for my child as an individual and a basketball player.

  • I/We understand that RM Fever is focused on developing coaches and provides mentoring for coaches in their program. I realize that my immediate feedback to RM Fever with concerns about my child’s coach is imperative to assist them in continued development of coaches.

  • I/We expect a drug-free, alcohol-free and tobacco-free sports environment for my child and agree to assist by refraining from the use of these substances at all youth sports events.

  • I/We will expect my child to follow the 24 Hour Rule. If my child has issues or concerns with the coach following a game my child will wait 24 hours before respectfully approaching the coach to discuss those. I too will follow the 24 Hour Rule.

  • I/We understand that RM Fever endeavors to create competitive teams at various levels and respect the fact that they cannot guarantee the skill level of all players and how the team will perform.

  • I/We understand that RM Fever is a competitive club program and that playing time is not guaranteed. Players are encouraged to attend practices, work hard, be coachable and have a good attitude. Playing time is based on effort and skills of players and if my child has concerns about playing time I will encourage my child to visit with the coach.

  • I/We understand that RM Fever Directors cannot attend every practice or game so if I have concerns I must contact them immediately so they can be addressed and the organization can continue to focus on providing a positive environment for everyone.

Watching my child play basketball is fun! I realize my positive attitude and support can lead to more enjoyment for myself, my child, coaches, officials and all involved.  I will be grateful for every opportunity I have to watch my child play and  provide support to them as a Healthy Sport Parent.

By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read and understand the above Guidelines and agree to abide by the terms. Failure to follow these Guidelines can result in my removal and exclusion from Rocky Mountain Fever for the remainder of the season and possible future seasons.
